Come and celebrate with us at the award winning National Tourism Accredited Laura Folk Fair. The two day event is held annually in early April. The family focused event provides a wonderful country experience, with free entry and entertainment.
The Laura Folk Fair is a major rural festival of the Southern Flinders Ranges. Enjoy art, a street parade, bands, dancers, musicians, puppetry, rides, fireworks, bush dance, side show alley, competitions, and with over 100 stalls selling handcrafted items, local produce and plants, you’ll have a truly unique shopping experience. Also take time to enjoy South Australia’s iconic Golden North ice-cream.
The annual renown Art Exhibition and Literary Award attract Australia wide entries. Laura is a vibrant, artistic rural community with a population of approximately 780 it is situated beside the Rocky River and amongst the rolling hills of the Southern Flinders Ranges, agriculture being the main local industry. Laura boasts a proud connection to two icons of South Australian culture – boy-hood home of the “Larrikin Laureate” CJ Dennis (1876-1938) and the home of Golden North Ice-cream (since 1923)
Remember to bring cash with you as EFTPOS facilities are very limited in Laura. You know you’ll need it as there will be just so many great things to see & do. 🙂
