The program for the 2020 Laura Fair is looking exciting.
We have a great selection of entertainment for the kids; we have
Peter Combe singing favourites like "Spaghetti Bolognese" and all those other favourites like "Wash Your Face in Orange Juice", James’ Travelling Magic Show. The ever-popular Old MacDonald’s Petting Zoo is back by popular demand, Port Pirie Youth Theatre will be presenting an Easter Show and the local troupe Hip Hop Bounce will be performing on Sunday.
Some new faces to The Laura Fair are: Emma Winship and Dreadlock Cowboy both very entertaining ladies with fabulous voices.
Some of those coming back are Clare Valley Concert Band with a great selection of tunes; David Robinson will once again entertain you with guitar, harmonica and vocals on both Saturday and Sunday. Mollydooker are also going to entertain you with mandoline, bass and vocals. The Pipes & Drums of the Royal Caledonian Society will lead the street parade at 11am on Saturday as well as a couple of other performances in the main mall, always a crowd favourite; The Jukebox Boys will be playing those favourite songs we all know and love from the 60’s, 70’s and beyond; Sing Australia will sing the National Anthem and some of your favourite songs. Bliss the party band is back on Saturday night from 7 - 10 so come and party!
Enjoy art, a street parade, bands, musicians, rides, side show alley, competitions, and with over 100 stalls selling handcrafted items, local produce and plants, you’ll have a truly unique shopping experience. Also take time to enjoy South Australia’s iconic Golden North ice-cream. Back again this year is the 10 metre Mobile Air Rifle Range from Sporting
Shooters Association of Australia SA so come and test your marksmanship or just try something new.
Also visit the annual Art Exhibition which attracts Australia wide entries.
Sideshows and Rides
“Sideshow Alley bought to Laura by the Showmen’s Guild of South Australia”
The Laura Fair would not be complete without a stroll down Sideshow Alley with all the sideshows and rides available. This is all part of the atmosphere and excitement of the Fair. It is a must for the kids and adults alike with something for everyone.
Saturday Night Concert
The Laura Fair will be going later into the night on Saturday with some great bands including the ever popular The Jukebox Boys, Mollydooker followed by party band Bliss. The stage will be jumping until 10 o'clock. Food stalls will be open for dinner and the bar will be open until 10 as well.
Horse and Cart Rides
“Ross Story’s Selection Hill Clydesdale Trolley Rides”
Mr. Clip Clop has been a star attraction at The Laura Fair for many years and sadly this will be the last year we have this experience as Ross is retiring. For over 30 years he has been taking you for leisurely rides along Herbert St so do it just one more time and wish Ross well for his retirement.
As always there is plenty to do for the kids at The Laura Fair.
Sideshow Alley and the Spectacular Rides are always a popular destination for both kids and young people.
Add to this an Ice Cream Eating Competition, Old MacDonald's Farm, Peter Combe, Face Painting, CFS Smokey the Koala and Mr Clip Clop, as you can see that there is plenty to see and do.
Boot Toss Competition
The Laura Fair will be having the Boot Toss competition again on Sunday run by Rocky River Ag Bureau Sunday afternoon. Test your arm and see if you can beat the record set last year.
