The Laura Fair
For our 40th birthday we have a fantastic programme for the 2019 Laura Folk Fair.
We have a great selection of entertainment for the kids; we have
The Amazing Drumming Monkeys and James’ Travelling Magic Show. The ever-popular Old MacDonald’s Petting Zoo is back by popular demand and the local troupe Hip Hop Bounce are performing on Sunday.
Some new faces to the Folk Fair are: Mollydooker, and Saturday night we have the very popular party band Bliss playing from 8pm until 10pm.
Some of those coming back are Clare Valley Concert Band with a great selection of tunes; David Robinson will once again entertain you with guitar, harmonica and vocals on both Saturday and Sunday. The Pipes & Drums of the Royal Caledonian Society will lead the street parade at 12 on Saturday as well as a couple of other performances in the main mall, always a crowd favourite; The Jukebox Boys will be playing those favourite songs we all know from the 60’s 70’s and beyond; Sing Australia will sing the National Anthem with the local school children and sing some of your favourite songs. The Band of the SA Police Dixie Ensemble is on the Main Stage Saturday afternoon.
Enjoy art, a street parade, bands, musicians, puppetry, rides, side show alley, competitions, and with over 100 stalls selling handcrafted items, local produce and plants, you’ll have a truly unique shopping experience. Also take time to enjoy South Australia’s iconic Golden North ice-cream. Back again this year is the 10 metre Mobile Air Rifle Range from Sporting
Shooters Association of Australia SA so come and test your marksmanship or just try something new. Dept Environment and Water’s Virtual Reality goggles of South Australia’s Marine Parks will have their van at the Fair on Saturday.
Also visit the 40th annual Art Exhibition which attracts Australia wide entries.
Sideshows and Rides
“Sideshow Alley bought to Laura by the Showmen’s Guild of South Australia”
The Laura Folk Fair would not be complete without a stroll down Sideshow Alley with all the sideshows and rides available. This is all part of the atmosphere and excitement of the Fair. It is a must for the kids and adults alike with something for everyone.
Saturday Night Concert
The Laura Folk Fair will be going later into the night on Saturday with some great bands including the ever popular The Borderers followed by party band Bliss. The stage will be jumping until 10 o'clock. Food stalls will be open for dinner and the bar will be open until 10 as well.
Horse and Cart Rides
“Ross Story’s Selection Hill Clydesdale Trolley Rides”
Mr. Clip Clop has been a star attraction at the Laura Folk Fair for many years now. Kids and adults alike have enjoyed a leisurely ride around the township. Make sure you stop by and support his valuable contribution to the Folk Fair environment.
As always there is plenty to do for the kids at the Laura Folk Fair.
Sideshow Alley and the Spectacular Rides are always a popular destination for both kids and young people.
Add to this an Ice Cream Eating Competition, Old MacDonald's Farm, The Amazing Drumming Monkeys, Face Painting, CFS Smokey the Koala and Mr Clip Clop you can see that there is plenty to see and do.
Boot Toss Competition
The Laura Folk Fair will be having the Boot Toss competition again on Sunday run by Rocky River Ag Bureau Sunday afternoon. Test your arm and see if you can beat the record set last year.
